Normal Porn for Normal People.
“Everybody knows that if you surf the web long enough, you’ll see some sick shit. This is especially true if you intentionally dwell into the dark underbelly of the internet. I’ve seen quite a few things I don’t care to admit to, but one thing that I’ll always remember is a site called “normalpornfornormalpeople.com”.

Don’t Get Outta the Car by thosewholeft
Originally found here
I was driving a shortcut from Twentynine Palms, CA to Albuquerque, NM. Twentynine Palms is located in the desolate high desert east of LA. The shortcut was all two lane road through total nothingness, except for passing through Amboy, CA. Amboy is a nearly abandoned town nearly as far below sea level as Death Valley, with a dormant volcano and lava field on one side and a salt flat on the other. It was also, at the time, a hotspot for satanic group activity.

A Horrible Game
by LexieX
There was a running joke that our workplace was haunted. It was an older office building, and we were on the 33rd floor. I had been skeptical, but my attitude changed as the rainy summer wore on. A strange quality seemed to hang about the place, coming and going at odd times. I soon developed the ability to sense it beginning. I would be working, eating, talking… some mundane activity… and then I would feel a slight rotation of reality, as if existence itself had faded into a subtly different spectrum.

Sam…
by slidewithme
When I was about 3 years old, my family was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. We lived in base housing, which was actually quite nice compared to other base housing we’d previously been in. It was a two-story officer’s house with a somewhat small kitchen, and four cement steps leading up to the front door. The floors were tatami, and some of the interior walls were rice paper panels. I remember my mother being very firm and strict about playing near the rice paper walls; they’re extremely fragile, albeit beautiful. My mother had just given birth to my little brother right before we moved in, so she was up a lot at night in the kitchen feeding him. Sometimes, my sister and I would wake up at the sound of her descending the stairs and go sit with her and our brother for a little while. After the first week or so of living in the house, she wouldn’t let us come down stairs at night anymore, and I never knew why. When I was about 16, she told me.

The Face in the Window
by nightmarepeople
Of the many strange things that happened to me as a child, the most unusual experience I have ever had took place in the small town of Burnet, Texas, in 1985. Though I was young, I can guarantee that the events I am about to describe are accurate, and are not the result of some childhood daze that often overtakes some memories.

St Michan’s Church. Dublin.
St Michan is said to have been a Danish Bishop who, in 1095, built a church above vaults that had been constructed upon the site of an ancient oak forest. The church was rebuilt in the 18th century and contains, among other things, the death mask of the charismatic Irish patriot, Theobald Wolfe Tone (1763-1798), and the organ on which Handel is reputed to have practise his “Messiah” before the first performance in Dublin. The philosopher Edmund Burke was christened here and the funeral of Home Rule leader Charles Stewart Parnell took place here.
But, in the dark vaults beneath the church, you will find one of the creepiest and most unique haunted locations in the whole of Ireland. You enter this subterranean world via two heavy iron doors that open onto a steep flight of stone steps, down which you descend into eerie darkness. The air, however, is strangely warm and fresh, not in the least like the cold and clammy atmosphere you would expect to find in such a place. As your eyes grow accustomed to the dark, you notice a series of high-vaulted cells that lead from a central passage. In several of the chambers, coffins are stacked in untidy piles as generations of the same family lie on top of one another. In places the weight of the dead pressing upon the dead has resulted in the coffins collapsing into each other causing arms, legs or even heads to protrude from their final resting places as if posing

A Dream my Mother Had
by wigwalk2310
I remember my mother telling me about a dream she used to have as a child. She would find herself outside an old house, desperately trying to find the way in. She would bang on the door and peer in through the windows, but inside all the rooms were dark and empty.
She was never sure why she was so desperate to get inside the house but something kept forcing her to try. In her dream she would turn away from the house to look down the garden path, but it was dusk and what little light was left was blocked by the swaying branches overhead. Even as her eyes adjusted to the twilight she could see nothing beyond the wind-blown limbs of a few nearby trees; beyond that was total darkness.

Found in a young boy’s diary.

I’m not going to write dear diary every time because only girls do that. I told Dad and he said I should write, “Yo, Diary!” But I’m not going to do that either because Dad’s jokes are dumb. So I’m putting numbers on top of the page. My name is Bobby. I’m writing in a journal because I’m moving into a new house soon and Mom said it would keep me busy for the car ride. It was sort of bad news when they said we were moving, but they said it would be better than the old house. School will start in a few weeks. I hope I make friends soon. At least my cousin Robin lives in this town. She’s my favourite cousin. We have lots of fun together. Anyway, I’ll keep the journal safe in case anyone reads it. If you’re reading it now, stop! This is private property.

When I was in the Navy…
by Swimmingtrex
I spent 6 years in the Navy as a Seamanship Officer. I was posted to a landing platform and we had just pulled alongside our home port. I had just become qualified to do duties whilst alongside as the officer of the day. My main duties were to supervise the rest of the duty watch onboard, respond to emergencies as the senior officer and my least favorite job,a conduct 3 hourly rounds of all the ships compartments. Ah rounds, how I loathed thee. The 3 main reasons that we conducted rounds were, 1. To ensure no one was hurt/dead/trying to kill themselves etc. 2. Make sure crew members weren’t “fraternizing”. 3. To check that we weren’t taking on water.
Well, my first duty was uneventful to start with, in fact it was peaceful, I watched ALOT of scrubs. All was great until my set of 2300 rounds…

[WARNING GRAPHIC AND SLIGHTLY NSFL] I’m not afraid of the bogeyman—there are monsters enough to be had amongst mankind.
by Iaintgotnoname
I’m a program evaluator for the State of Ohio, and I work in a rented space in a county facility. I work across the hall from a case manager, who routinely has clients with addiction related problems come in and out of her office. I usually leave my office door open, and can hear conversations had inside her office, if I should so desire to listen. About a month ago, a client came in with a story that crossed the usual threshold of junkie stories. He had extra information regarding the murder of Danette Loy, at the hands of Jeremy Stutler.
This guy was from Alliance, Ohio, and he said he’d been baby-sitting for the Stutler and Loy. They had a child suffering from mental retardation as a result of the vast amount of crack that Danette had smoked during the pregnancy. There were also two other children at the residence. Danette was once again pregnant, and once again using. Jeremy was also using pretty regularly, a veritable cornucopia of pharmacologicals.
